PS-six
Nicholas Szczepanik
"ecru epithet"

mp3 sample

Ecru Epithet is an improvised audio experiment recorded during a period in Nicholas' life when he had great personal turmoil. That few hours long recording session resulted into an expression of his, at that time, emotional state, which he used to cope with his anguish and confusion. The music itself is abrasive (at times), abstract, and challenging while still remaining strangely contemplative and restrained. Nothing Nicholas has done so far has been similar to any of his previous work, so be sure to expect a surprise.

PS-seven
Terence Hannum
"Oaths/Omens"

mp3 sample

Reflections on architecture and space.  These tracks blend the sacred and profane, using field recordings, jaw harps, synths, dubbed out melodicas, walls of blissed white noise, unholy vocalizations from the depths - each piece is an oath that visual artist T. Hannum (member of death folk quartet Unlucky Atlas and one half of noise/drone-metal duo Locrian) puts to use in interrogating the apex.  These tracks precariously balance between affirmation and doom.  "Oaths/Omens" collects five years of his solo recording output, initially recorded for accompanying video art installations (as evidenced in the final three tracks) before he began performing solo.  "Ossuary" and "Obelisk" were originally released as cassettes by Human Conduct and self-released by the artist.

Burrow
"loom"

Bryan Tholl (Is) and Blake Edwards (Vertonen) lock forces with turntables, electronics, metals, and other objects to generate audio ranging from abrasive electronic hissy fits to musique concrete manipulations to drowning drones.....

Le Scrambled Debutante "research material"
Jerry Sutton, Allan Zane (of WYRM), Sid Redlin and a host of others are back with Power Silence's second Le Scrambled Debutante release--Research Material.
One long, constantly warping and mutating track (that is actually MANY songs interlocked) stretched out over the entire disc.
Research Material is a trip designed for exploration in the deepest nether-regions of your brain. This ain't  yer daddy's psychedelic music!!!

Hjorten  "electricity"
Swedish audio demon Hjorten makes his PS debut with "electricity".
Contianed inside, all the analog crackling, buzzing, humming and NOISE you would expect
from a self proclaimed experimental sound terrorist.

Mikreh "the same sun was shining now as was shining then"
Collaborative effort between experimental guitarist Michelle Webb and Chicago's Winters in Osaka. Music inspired and informed by violence in the middle east.
A ritual bath used for spiritual purification.

PCRV + Vertonen "deep time"

deep time was borne from Matt and Blake’s mutual interest in physical cosmology: primarily astronomical hypotheses about the ultimate fate of the universe, and in particular, fates where the universe comes to an end.
The audio reflects our impressions of three specific components of theories about the eventual death of the universe. First, we were interested in the deterioration of gravitational fields: not only those fields shared by planets, stars, and galaxies, but also, eventually, on the molecular level. Second, we were both intrigued by various elements of the universe relative to their role in the end of the universe, such as the Sloan Great Wall and black holes (especially theories concerning gravitational singularity, Einstein-Rosen bridges, and event horizons). Finally, and perhaps the most overwhelming issue we wrestled with, was getting our heads around the sheer time and spatial dimensions / elements associated with the death of the universe: for example, the edge of the astronomically visible universe is 46.5 gigalight years, or 46.5 billion light years; this is big in anyone’s language, especially when you consider that one light year alone is approximately six trillion miles (or 10 trillion kilometers). The time involved in the gradual decay of the universe is also, unsurprisingly, vast: imagine the number 10 with 2500 zeroes following it, for example.

PBK/ROE  "F"
"F" is the new release by PBK in collaboration with Geary Roe II. PBK/ROE have been working together since 2003, specializing in a unique combination of droning textures, environmental / found sounds and bent-circuitry instrumentation. They have shared the same stage as Wolf Eyes, Hive Mind, Dead Machines, and many other Detroit-area experimentalists. The sound material here is taken from numerous live improvisations the duo recorded in-studio. PBK compiled, remastered and sequenced the tracks specifically for this release. These dark sonic abstractions endeavor to exemplify the mind of Hans Fritzl, the infamous Austrian who raped and imprisoned his daughter for decades. PBK/ROE have created a grim electronic correlation to the world of Fritzl and the psychic sickness he imposed upon his daughter & grandchildren.
